Many varieties of red and white grapes can be found at the Region of Murcia. Some of the red grapes are Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Monastrell are sowed in our lands. The Region of Murcia is the main producer of the Monastrell variety very well adapted to hot weather. 

Merlot is one of the sweetest wines, with flavors like raspberry, black cherry or prunes. Easy to combine it with red meat or a selection of cheeses. 

When it comes to white grapes verdejo, chardonnay, small grain muscat or viognier are a group, also present, in Murcia's vineyards. The viognier is better tasted as a young wine, with beautiful perfume and plenty of fruity parts. Perfect to combine it with salads and seafood. 

Another variety that can be matched with seafood and fish is the verdejo. Smoked fish and white cheese are also good ingredients. when it comes to find a wonderful aperitif, to pair with this type of wine.
