The city of Cartagena is well-know for its touristic offers. Its history is present in every street where we find the traces of all the cultures, Punic and Roman that had influence on it. Many museums explain and show this influence and what brought the city to what it is today.

Militar and defensive architecture are present in many corners of Cartagena, mainly from the 18th century, built during the Carlos III kingdom. Many of these buildings have been restored and transformed into university faculties.

From the 19th century a variety of modernist buildings remind us of the wealthy era that Cartagena enjoyed when the silver mining was one of the main industries of the province.

On the coast of Cartagena, part of La Manga del Mar Menor, we can find several beaches such as: Marchamalo, Vivero, Puerto Bello, Barco Perdido, Las Sirenas and many more.

Cartagena has many celebrations scheduled during the whole year, as well as different arts festivals. In September, "Cartagineses and Romans” is the greatest holiday of the city where representations and parades take place to show how the battles occurred during the conquest of the lands.
